Vocus Communications (ASX: VOC) has scored a multi-year deal to provide international Internet access (IP transit) and domestic communication services to Perth-based mobile WiMAX network operator, vividwireless.
vividwireless - which presently operates mobile WiMAX networks in capital cities - has joined the Global TD-LTE Initiative (time division long term evolution) launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.
The mobile WiMAX base station supplied by Huawei for the vividwireless networks has become one of the first WiMAX products to receive the WiMAX Forum seal of approval for operation with multiple antennas (MIMO) in the 2.3GHz band.

vividwireless has launched commercial services on its mobile WiMAX network in Perth, with prices starting at $20 per month for 1GB of data.
